Chaplain Davis serves as the Chaplain Captains Career Course Manager at the United States Army Chaplain Center & School. In this role he serves as the Senior Instructor and Manager for a 6 month leadership course that prepares Army chaplains for supervisory positions and other leadership positions of increasing responsibility and influence in the Army. Chaplain Davis is a native of Philadelphia, PA. He is a graduate of Oakwood University, with a B.A. in Ministerial Theology, and Andrews University with a Masters of Divinity. He has been a professional minister for over 21 years. Prior to entering military service he served the Worldwide Protestant Christian community as a Missionary(Taiwan, Republic of China), University Chaplain,and as a Pastor. He speaks Mandarin Chinese,Spanish, and maintains professional proficiency in Biblical Greek and Hebrew. His previous assignments include: Battalion Chaplain, 6/101 Aviation, 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division at Fort Campbell, KY (2003); Battalion Chaplain, 1/502 Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division at Fort Campbell, KY (2003-2006); Battalion Chaplain, 2/3 Special Forces Group (ABN) at Fort Bragg, NC (2006-2009); Regimental Chaplain, 3rd Regiment, United States Military Academy at West Point, NY (2009-2012); Brigade Combat Team Chaplain, 3rd BCT, 10th Mountain, Fort Drum, NY (2012-2014); and Resident Intermediate Leader Education at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS (2014-2015). He has served 4 combat tours, including two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2004 and 2005-2006) and two tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Afghanistan (2007-2008 and 2013-2014). His military education includes the Chaplain Officer Basic Course, Chaplain Captain Career Course, Brigade Chaplain Functional Qualification Course, Resident Intermediate Leader Education (CGSC), Army Basic Instructor Course/Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, Army TRADOC Faculty Development, Air Assault School, Airborne School, and Jumpmaster School. Chaplain Davis’ military awards include the Bronze Star Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 oak leaf clusters), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral three device), Iraqi Campaign Medal (two campaign stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (two campaign stars), NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (3 oak leaf clusters), Army Superior Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. Chaplain Davis has been happily married to the former Shalita Gibbons of the island of Bermuda for over 17 years. Together they have 2 sons and a daughter, PJ (13), CJ (11), and AJ (6).
