1. it all. Too much training and we drown.I wish I could claim to have the bacanle clear, but I can’t. I do know this, we often get the sequence wrong. Starting with education about a field (online marketing) for example, is fine. But more training without a plan of what you want to implement is a bad idea and contributes to the overwhelm. With a plan, for example a funnel plan, you are in a position to know what you want to work on. You have short term objectives for your long term goal and purpose. And here’s the best part, you are in a position to determine if you need any training (or perhaps just a bit of advice and feedback) for the immediate task at hand (as suggested by the plan). So if I may, while it’s true that too much training can overwhelm, a lot of that is because the training is not immediately applicable. As a result, a lot of it will be lost. As a product training manager for a large equipment supplier, I frequently advised our customers, If you don’t use it, you will lose it. So, a lot of training, unclearly related to the tasks immediately at hand, can really overwhelm. Just-in-time training is less overwhelming.Having said all that, I know exactly the feeling you describe. 2. Don I love your video and I’m sure most of us can relate to this post of yours .I know I can. I aawlys seem to have so many things on my mind that I need to do and the list seems to get longer every day, even though I am ticking things off the list. The overwhelm is truly overwhelming! I deal with it by writing a list of what really needs to be done and then focusing on one thing at a time, trying not to even think about what else is on my list or how long it is. Taking a break from it all also helps me get perspective back .and I guess that’s my version of going into your cave. 5. Don,Loved the analogy! That’s so much beettr than using a balloon & popping it! There is definitely a need to step back and just breath once in awhile. It does not good to chase too many rabbits at the same time, they all get away! May not be a man cave, yet it suffices. I clear my head by going for walks in the woods. Nothing brings you back into the present like realizing you are one small part of the whole. Puts everything in focus.
